School just got out last Friday for the summer and I couldn't help but realize that I end up listening to the same 5 albums every summer. I've decided to compile a list of these timeless albums and share them with all of you.
5. A Lesson In Romantics - Mayday Parade
This album to me, will always be the best of the best from Mayday Parade. From Jamie All Over to Miserable At Best, this album covers everything you could want in an album. Also, Mayday plays a lot of the Warped Tour shows, which always remind me of summer. There's just something about the guitar riffs and feel of the lyrics that scream summer to me. I have been listening to Mayday since the summer of 2007 and I haven't stopped yet, and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
4. Ocean Avenue - Yellowcard
I don't care who you are, Ocean Avenue is your summer jam. This song has been around for many years now and has yet to get old yet. Not to mention, it's from an amazing album. Honestly, I kinda forget about Yellowcard for the majority of the year, but when summer rolls around, you better believe I'm listening to Ocean Avenue from start to finish. So many great memories have been had while listening to this album that I can't help but listen to it every summer.
3. 5 Seconds of Summer - 5 Seconds of Summer
These four Australlian lads are a new addition to my list of perfect artists for the summer. It's no wonder why their name has the word summer in it, since every song of theirs has a certain feel to it that makes you want to drive with your windows down singing along with your best friends. 5 Seconds of Summer is one of the last hopes we have for proper pop punk in the world, and frankly, I think they're doing it entirely right.
2. Enema of the State - Blink 182
Blink 182 is legendary. Period. Listening to Enema of the State always brings me back to my childhood when my brother and his friends would blare their music and participate in shenanigans. There's something about this album that reminds us all of being young and just enjoying life. Blink has always had a way with lightening the mood and bringing a care free attitude to the table, and to me that is what summer is all about.
1. So Wrong, It's Right - All Time Low
All Time Low is literally the soundtrack of my summer, and this album for some reason stands out a little more than their others. This album has a care free feel to it and, not to mention, the song "The Beach" that gives it the perfect summer feel. All Time Low has been one of my favorites from day one and I continue to love listening to them year round. So Wrong, It's Right is the perfect album to listen to in the summer for road trips, hanging out with friends or even just chilling at home by yourself. This album will forever hold a place in my heart as my go to album for my summer soundtrack.
